Cat print shirt, H&M. Black shorts, Monki. Brown leather boots, vintage. Brown leather satchel, Vero Moda. Grey over knee socks, Asos. Black belt, my boyfriend's. Denim vest, vintage.
Brrrr! It's been such a lovely, sunny day, but when I went outside to take photos in the gorgeous sunset, the sky suddenly filled with clouds and it got really windy. Cold winds. After five minutes, it started raining and I gave up on the whole thing. Well, at least a got a few shots before I got soaked!
One thing that sure isn't ugly is this beautiful leather satchel! I almost wish I was back in school just so I could fill it with heavy books every morning and carry them around all day. Well, the 1st of July I will move into my new office in a nearby town, that will have to do as a substitute for school.
I've had this cat print t-shirt at least ten years, I never get tired of it! I mean come on, it's got CATS on it! Cats! On a t-shirt! What's not to like?!
Confession: I chose these outfit photos specifically because my legs look good in them. I never mind the way my legs look in real life, but in photos I often think they look... not very fit. That's probably because I'm so used to seeing all these extremely skinny, retouched girls in thousands of fashion photographs. Even on style communities like Lookbook and Chictopia it feels like every single girl has a perfect body... Yet here I am, picking out the photos where I think I look the most like them. And so it goes on and on and on.
Now I have to go out in the rainy darkness to look for one of my cats - Biianka came inside with me when it started raining but I haven't caught a glimpse of Baryshnik for hours. He's way to adventurous for his mother's fragile heart! (Yeah, sorry, I do call myself their "mom". I know it's lame. As soon as I become a mother to a real, live, human baby, I'll stop. I promise.)
the leather satchel... <3
ReplyDeletelets go back to school, shall we???
u look great as always :)

I love how sincere and honest your words are, really. Not many bloggers out there would confess their 'insecurities'...and I'm saying this assuming you have none (at least you shouldn't) coz you're utterly gorgeous and I'm dying of envy after seeing your legs! ;-p
ReplyDeleteI give you an A+ for the vest!
xoxo
du är otroligt vacker
ReplyDeletethis is gorgeous...simple and yet not boring at all (just like you said about the boots/vest!)
ReplyDeleteA cat shirt! So darling and perfect! And I think those boots are remarkable. I actually call myself "mom" for my cat, Neko, as well. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are gorgeous! I love the socks & the boots. I've just discovered your blog and it's GORGEOUS - how did I not find you sooner?! You've definitely found yourself a new follower :) xx
ReplyDeleteI for one am super jealous of your vintage finds, especially with the vest and boots.... I wish the vintage and thrift stores in my area had such great stock! You may say they're ugly, but I like them, haha :) Maybe it's because of the rationale you pointed out, about needing just the right bit of rockstar to balance out an outfit!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thank you for being 1) an awesome writer, and 2) writing honestly. I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices the prevailing skinniness on fashion sites! But you're positively gorgeous, Annika, so you've got nothing to worry about, haha!
omg. you look stunning. love this so much. amazing post. if you get a second I would love if you could stop by and check out my latest post. xoxo

For all the latest celebrity fashion news.
Men alltså,
ReplyDeletedu är ju ungefär det snyggaste som gått i ett par skor (/stövlar).
Behövde bara få det sagt.
:)
Christina, actually I was planning on going back to school this fall ;) I was going to take a university class in creative writing, since I feel a little bit stuck in my efforts to write fiction. But then one of the magazines I work for had a makeover and started to come out twice a month instead of every week, which cuts my paycheck in half, and I just don't think I can afford to take time off to study. Which truly sucks. But yeah, let's go back to school!!! :P
ReplyDeleteGemma, I simply can't believe how lovely you are! Your comments always put such a huge smile on my face. Of course I have tons of insecurities, but they're getting constantly better with age, and I'm a firm believer in< that nothing ever gets better if we don't talk about it. I'm so unbelievably happy that I'm not a teenager anymore (not even close), but there are new girls and boys turning teenagers every single day. I think that we who got through those years and came out on the other side, beaten and bruised but still alive, have a responsibility towards the younger to share what we've learned.
Diya, YAY! Mission accomplished :D Thank you!
The Fancy Teacup, oh good, it's such a relief that I'm not the only cat mommy out there ;)
holly and the wolves, don't beat yourself up honey, I started this blog not even two weeks ago. So it's not like you're the only one in the class not invited. :) Since you have the best blogger alias I've seen so far, I had to immediately click my way into your blog. And oh, am I in love. I mean, the first thing I see is a light switch with the word "Lumos" written underneath. I scroll down and yes, there you go, I see piles and piles of my favorite books. Your photos are beautiful, your writing is wonderfully captivating and you seem like a brilliant person. Thank you for finding me - and letting me find you!
Shayli. You are wonderful! I adore your sweet and thoughtful comments and I can't even fathom the fact that you own a frickin Time Turner necklace!!! Can't even begin to explain how much I need one of those. Maybe it could even help me out with all of the work I should have gotten done today - as it turned out, I spent my day cuddling with the cats and watching Glee instead of working. In my defence, I've worked for nine days straight and my brain was getting a little bit over heated. Anyways, I'm so so so glad that you take the time to comment on my blog, and as you might notice I want to have a conversation with you, too. ;) <3
Fash Boulevard - thank you, dear!
cary. Oj. Tack! Vilken sanslöst vacker blogg du har. Att scrolla ner var ju som att bläddra i en sådan där fancy coffeetable-bok. Har aldrig sett London vackrare. Dessutom skriver du som en stjärna.
Well, you ARE a beauty and that's not ok with me, sorry.
ReplyDeleteJK. I actually found and followed you because I liked the comment you left on Margaret's latest post! Haha! I love that you write so honestly. Sometimes I find fashion blogs incredibly boring to read because everyone is way too "Aww..isn't this and that GREAT and WONDERFUL and KISSES! HUGS!" and it's not terribly fascinating. I find you very inspiring. I like you! AND who doesn't post photos of themselves on the internet based on how their legs look? I DO! (andfaceandhairandskinandeverything). We're fascinated by perfection, even if it's just an illusion. <3
Well Nicki dahling, I like you, too. I can forgive fashion bloggers who don't write one single word about what they're really thinking or feeling, as long as they have awesome outfit posts - but that's just not my thing. I have to rant on and on about things, if I try to stop myself, I get a headache. No, really. OK, not really. But a metaphorical headache.
ReplyDeleteBut I f-ing hate (physical) perfection! And I hate that I'm not cool and confident enough to not giv a crap about those sorts of things. But I'm just not. I want people to think of me as awesome even when I'm not, that's how weak I am. I figure, as long as I don't pretend I don't even think about these things, I should be ok.
<3
I'm apparently too tired to be allowed to sit in front of a computer. First I couldn't spell when I commented your blog, now I can't spell to save my life in my own. Since I was speaking about hating things, well, I also haaaaaate making spelling- or grammar mistakes. I mean, if I think I'm writing correctly in English even though I'm not, that's fine - "hey, it's my second language for Christ's sake, what do you expect?" sort of - but these sloppy errors, I really do hate them. I know "give" is spelled with an e at the end. Of course I goddamn know that. Gah. Anyways. Bed time!
ReplyDeleteAnnika, I think I'm totally in love with you! Stop! Stop now! Yes, go to bed, get your rest, because I can't stand this exchange we're having right now that is making my heart beat a little too fast! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI have a love/hate with physical perfection. I'm in awe of it but I do think it's more about a manner, you know? A person who acts with beauty and grace and a kind of cool rock attitude is better than the beautiful cold stoic girl.
Also, everyone knows those spelling instances are typing errors. However, I do love and sympathize with your semi-paranoia because obviously you have always been way too gorgeous and you wanted people to know you are smart too! Well, yeah, we know that! You're perfect, ok!? Grr!
<3
I completely know what you mean about brain overheating, Annika! I just finished my exams for school and I still have a giant research project to do... on top of being sick. So what do I do? Read fashion blogs instead! Oh well.... we all deserve breaks once in a while!
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to comment further on the whole physical perfection idea, but I couldn't really figure out how to articulate my thoughts. Luckily Nicki pretty much summed up my thoughts. Huzzah!
Oh, how I wish it was late enough to justify going to bed where I'm living... goodnight! :)
gosh I love your posts!
ReplyDeleteYou are probably the most beautiful person I have ever seen!

oh i do love your boots!!!! I have rather large feet and can never find thrifted shoes when i do it is so exciting!! the brown satchel really is so adorable and your legs look bloody awesome, seriously i would kill to have long thin legs like you :). i know when i first started blogging it was so intimidating seeing all of these pictures of girls who had perfect bodies and were so beautiful. I would get all depressed and think well what the hell am i doing i totally dont belong anywhere near here???? I still feel that sometimes and when that happens i just have to take a break from the computer :) but it is nice to know other people have those thoughts as well although you look great in every photo so dont you worry about a thing!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing pics, you are so beautiful! And I love cats on anything :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, girl, you're a beauty! :P
ReplyDeleteLoved these photos, as always! your legs look bonkers! :O so toned and beautiful!
