It's Giveaway Time - Make your skin glow with Manasi Makeup!

This, my friends, is Manasi Makeup Lyster Creme Bronzer - one of the best makeup products I've ever used. It doesn't only give your skin that subtle yet visible sun-kissed glow, it also smells like the most delicious dessert you could ever imagine! (I raved about how hard it is not to eat it with a spoon here.)

I've used mine instead of blush every time I've put on makeup since I got it in June, partly because of the amazing scent, partly because it looks so much better, younger and more natural than any powder blush.

Bronzed from head to toe for Johanna Vikman S/S12. Photos by Karin Foberg.

The creator of this product is the sensationally skilled make up artist Susanne Persson, with whom I've worked for years, since she's the one who always does the make up and hair for the Johanna Vikman campaign and lookbook shoots. Manasi Makeup is her own cosmetics brand, where she develops products that she finds are missing on the market today.

And, well, since I happen to be completely obsessed with my Lyster Creme Bronzer, of course I want you guys to discover it, as well!

For the chance to be the one lucky lady who will receive the bronzer in her mailbox, all you have to do is this:

1. Follow According to Annika via google friend connect or Bloglovin'...
2. ...like According to Annika, Manasi Makeup and the Manasi Makeup Webshop on Facebook...
3. ...and leave me a comment on this post to let me know you've entered! (Don't forget to add your e-mail address so that I can contact you if you win.)

Four Months and Counting - It's Giveaway Time!

Today it's been exactly four months since my first ever post on According to Annika. It blows me away that so many people have found their way here during this time - I can't even tell you how glad I am I decided to start this blog! THANK YOU SO MUCH for continuing to stop by!

Enough sweet-talking, let's get straight to it: how would you feel about strolling around wearing this spectacular parka? Oh, you wouldn't mind? Good. Because Sofie, the designer behind the amazing Swedish brand Sofifi is kind enough to give one away!

I've had the pleasure of knowing Sofie since way back in 2004, which actually makes her one of my oldest friends. We became friends while we were both living in Shanghai, China. Back then, she was already one of the most inspiring, ambitious and energetic people I had ever met, and she definitely hasn't become any less so in the eight years since.

But the fact that my Sofifi pieces are some of my absolute favorites in my wardrobe (I've lost track of how many times I've worn this amazing leather jacket on the blog!) has nothing to do with the fact that Sofie herself is a friend of mine. I actually remember the first time she invited me over to her apartment to see and try on some of her designs - my gosh, I was so nervous! It always freaks me out when a friend wants to play me a song they recorded, show me a painting they made or a book they wrote, or any other creative attempt they wish to share. What if I don't like it? Or, God forbid, what if I hate it? Of course I could just lie to be kind, but that doesn't seem fair, either. When a friend puts everything on the line to become a designer, and asks for my opinion - isn't it somehow my obligation to tell her what I truly think?

Luckily, it has never, ever had to come to that. It seems like my friends have been pretty accurate at realizing what their talents are! That first time I got to try on Sofie's designs, I was entirely blown away - by the luxurious materials and the beautiful shapes, but most of all, by the fact that I felt, well, sexy in them. I wasn't wearing any make up and had my unwashed hair pulled back in a sloppy ponytail, but it didn't matter - I felt like I had the word "bombshell" written all over me! But to be clear, I'm not talking "trashy" sexy. (Not that trashy sexy can't be hot, too!) I'm talking about a classy, elegant, feminine, empowered sexiness. Let me tell you, very few clothes have the ability to make me feel that way.

Sofie! What did you have in mind while designing this gorgeous parka?

- I was imagining what a sensual hip hop dancer would want to wear! I wanted to create something sporty yet at the same time glamorous. A piece that can be worn every day, but that you wouldn't mind throwing on when going to a fancy party.

Why do I always feel like a sexy, powerful woman as soon as I put on your clothes?

- Haha, I'm so glad that you do! Well, I design my pieces for an intelligent, sophisticated and confident woman who love her curves and wants to dress to flatter and accentuate her figure, instead of trying to hide it. Wearing Sofifi should be wearing a feeling. A dress should be able to enhance, embellish and make the eye of the beholder eager to know more… That is why every design has a unique and special tale to tell.

Who would you most love to see wearing your design?

- Anyone who fits - or wishes to fit - the description above! If I should pick four famous women I truly admire, that would have to be Lady Gaga, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Michelle Obama.

A huge thank to Sofie for sponsoring this giveaway!

So, to celebrate the four month anniversary of According to Annika, a Sofifi parka (retail price 290 EUR/400 USD) will be sent home to one of you who take time out of your busy days to visit this blog.

As usual, not too much work is required to enter:

1) Like According to Annika on Facebook and become a Google Friend Connect follower...

2) ...like Sofifi on Facebook...

3) ...and write a comment to tell me you've entered. Be sure to include your e-mail address so I can contact you if you're the lucky winner!

(I was planning on making some sort of justkiddingnotreally-joke about how you need to vote for me for the 2011 Blog Awards to enter, but I realized that's probably considered cheating... Well, I'd still love it if you would!)

Oh, and one more thing. If you care to tell your friends about this giveaway through your Facebook, Twitter or your blog, you're given extra entries. Just write another comment and tell me where you've shared a link to this post, and that comment will count as a new entry!

And the winner of the Johanna Vikman giveaway is...

Congratulations, honey! I can't wait to hear what you think about the dress - and see how you decide to style it, of course!

Thank you to the talented and generous Johanna Vikman who made this giveaway possible, and also, a huuuuge thank you to everyone who entered. I've never held a giveaway before and I so wish I could send a dress to all of you. But there will be tons more giveaways on this blog in the future, hopefully you'll be the next winner! You're all awesome and deserve the prettiest dresses in the world.

Oh, and I have to tell you: I numbered every comment in the order they came in and used random.org to pick the winning number, and when I realized that Jamie was the winner, at first I felt really bad - since I love her blog, I thought "what if people think it was all a set-up and I just picked out a blogger I like?". Well, there's no way I can prove that didn't happen, but I can assure you that it did not. And it's not like I could discriminate against bloggers and not let them enter in case they win. :) I promise you that everyone who entered this giveaway, and everyone who will enter in the future, has the exact same chance of winning as everybody else. I already know what I'm giving away next time and I can't wait to show you!

One month has passed - time for a giveaway!

I'm not sure if it feels like I've had this blog forever, or more like I started it yesterday. Actually, it doesn't really matter what it feels like - the calendar doesn't lie, and today, it's been exactly one month since my first post!

To celebrate this little anniversary, it's time for my very first giveaway. When I modeled for the new Johanna Vikman collection last week, I asked her to pleeeease pretty pretty please donate a dress that I could give to one of my readers. And since she's awesome, of course she said yes!

We immediately agreed on what dress to pick out - it's so gorgeous! - but we had trouble deciding between a pink, a green and a black one. Finally we came to the conclusion that the black one is without a doubt the most versatile and much less of a "only in the summer"-type dress.

The only problem is (and I know I'm so stupid who didn't think of this earlier) - I own this dress in pink, not in black. So I can't take a photo of the black dress! You'll just have to use your imagination... sorry about that. Anway, this is the lovely dress I'm giving away - but in black!

(Retail price 150 USD/100 EURO)

I figured this could be an opportunity for you guys to get to know the Johanna Vikman brand, so I asked Johanna a few questions.

How would you describe your design?

- I'd say what signifies my design is the distinct shapes. I'm using contradiction as a constant source of inspiration, building garments from various complex shapes that when linked together become something different - a timeless simple silhouette. High quality pieces to be worn again and again, only to get better with time!

What's the philosophy behind the brand?

- It's all about creating clothes to feel comfortable in. Clothes boosting your confidence, making you feel beautiful. Clothes enhancing and highlighting the female shape without being just another tight fitting dress! Versatile clothes that can easily be changed by clever fastenings - or just by wearing it backwards.

How would you describe the typical Johanna Vikman-wearer?

- She's confident, she has found her style and she's got a flair for design. Style comes easy to her. She is elegant without trying too hard, elegant like a film star from another era, but in a modern, urban way.

Who would you most love to see in a Johanna Vikman outfit?

- All women with a true passion for design! When it comes to celebrities it would be wonderful to dress Cate Blanchett, Vanessa Paradis and Erin OʼConnor, for their different and interesting types of beauty.

To be the one who'll receive a parcel with this awesome black dress inside, all you need to do is follow these three steps:

1. Become a google follower of According to Annika.

2. Click "like" on these two Facebook pages:

3. Leave a comment under this post, let me know you've entered, be sure to submit your e-mail address and what size you prefer (S/M/L, the one in the photos is a S).

All done!

UPDATE: This giveaway will be open until Sunday the 19th and residents of all countries are welcome to enter.

Please recommend this giveaway to your friends!
