Hit me like a ray of sun.

I am simply blown away by how talented this guy is.

My friend Anna and I were watching the Swedish version of Idol on Friday, curled up on my couch with the katz, and when this performance came on... We hadn't really noticed Robin before, but now - If I had been 14 years old instead of 27 and 359 days, I would have written him at least twenty love letters by now. Just because of the way he sings "it's written all over your face". It sends shivers down my spine every time. Seriously.

  3. face, I think he's 20 years old - it's just that I stopped writing love letters to boys with pretty singing voices after I turned 15... (Then I wrote them love e-mail instead. Ehhhrmmm.) ;) Sorry that I was unclear!

  5. hey dear annika!
i hope that you feel a little bit better now, because you sound a little bit like this. and i'm happy for you.
but i've wrote you an email three days ago. i checked my inbox like 3 times a day, but no answer. i leaved you a comment here saying that i wrote you an email. it meant much to me. i was worried about you, and i telled you about me. and i said that i would be glad if you write back. if you didn't get the email or if you really didn't had the time for answering than i'm really sorry. but if not, then i think you can't call us "readers" friends. because friendship is something that you have to give back, that you can't only take.

i still love your blog very much, you know that and i love your personalitly. that was just something i had to say for myself.

    in love, nastassja

  6. hi dear, thank you so much for your comment on my blog! I'm a big fan of you, your writing and your photography, so seeing a comment (incredibly sweet comment to be precise) from you made my day. some time ago I made a video tutorial how I edit these "flying" photos, you can find it here: http://www.saladofmylife.com/2011/04/how-to-levitate.html
but the photo you meantion consists of more than two photos (I added flying hair, flying skirt..:)
thank you once again, have a nice evening ♥

  7. I don't generally like Beyonce, but this is amazing. this is beyond amazing.

I also think it's curious that even for Swedish Idol, the songs (or this one at least!) is sung in English. how did you learn English? is it compulsory in Sweden to learn English? I love it.

PS: Australia doesn't actually have an "Idol" anymore, so I'm glad it's still going for some countries!

  8. lalaaaanita, yesssss, isn't it?! I think I must have watched it at least a billion times by now!

Actually, all the songs in Swedish Idol are English songs (except for one week where the assignment is to sing in Swedish), and almost all Swedish artists write and perform their music in English. I guess it's partly because they're looking to break internationally, and partly because it's "easier" - the lyrics become a little bit less important, and I believe Swedish is a pretty hard language when it comes to writing lyrics. English sort of... goes better with music and melody, not sure why, but that's what I feel like when I sit by my out of tune piano and write my own crappy songs!

I think Swedish kids start learning English in school when they're 7 or 8 - yep, it's mandatory - and since we don't dub movies or television shows, Swedes are generally pretty great at speaking and understanding English. I sometimes claim that being half-American and by spending lots of time in US and other countries helped me develop my English skills, but actually, the truth is probably that I simply watched way too many episodes of American tv shows during my teens. ;)

  9. Annika,

that is AMAZING! I actually want to learn Swedish now (I'm trying to pick a language to learn for university next year!). I think that's awesome; it does make sense. I guess I've never had to think about it because while Australia is a multicultural country, English is the 'main' language.

I have a lot of friends who know Japanese just by watching anime, so that does make a lot of sense! I know basic Chinese/different dialects of Asian, but I could never start a blog in Chinese (I think it's all the different tones and stuff - too confusing for me!).

just a weird question, what language do you dream in? apparently, by dreaming in a different language, it shows some kind of fluency in that language :)
