Ask me, ask me, ask me!

Tomorrow, this blog will have been around for four months. (I, on the other hand, have been around for a lot longer than that. For better and for worse. Mostly better.)

Maybe this is as good a time as any to have According to Annika's first Q&A session? You know what - I think it might be!

The "rules" are simple: ask me anything. If your question for some reason happens to be rude or inappropriate, I won't answer it. If it isn't, I will.

And if noone wants to know anything and this post doesn't get a single comment, I'll just pretend there was something wrong with blogspot and we'll forget all about it, okay?

PS. I'd really appreciate it if you'd ask your questions in English! DS.

PS2. Hmmm... I have the feeling I might get asked "why on Earth did you start blogging in English!?" once or twice or ten times. Bring it on! DS2.

  1. Hello there! :) I wanna ask some questions, out of my curiosity.

    1. How tall are you? In every post, you look pretty tall so I suppose you are 5'7 or taller! (if not, then you look so tall)

    2. Since when do you start to like fashion and what's your style?

    3. How long does it take to create a whole new outfit?

    :) Thanks in advance!

According to Annika, what makes a woman stylish?

  4. congrats, you're doing it so well!

    I wanted to ask you:
when and why did you start wearing red lipstick? Because as far as I'm following your blog, I see you wearing it almost every time.

    Thanks for answering!

Keep up the good work! :-)

here's the question: do you get lonely out there?

  9. Hey, I've been following your blog nearly from the beggining, although I comment maybe twice or less. But I do love your style (generally speaking, not only the fashion, but writing, sense of humour and everything)and you inspired me to set up my own blog someday ;)

Of course I have some questions.

-How many pair of shoes do you own?

-And how it happened that you live in this house? Did you buy it or inherit?

-...I'm just curiuous - are you and Ronnie engaged or planning to have a wedding? Don't answer if it's too inquisitive :)

  10. Hello! I wanted to ask you: What do you think of designer items being copied and sold on lower prices by some famous brands, that a lot of bloggers buy, too, because..well, obviously they don't have loads of money. :)

  11. A question just came to my mind :)
Do you visit and comment a lot of blogs every day ? Because your blog got a lot of followers in very short time ! That's why I'm wondering how it happened :)

  12. "I'd really appreciate it if you'd ask your questions in English!"

Argh. I am sorry. I am stupid. Here goes:

    3. Have you ever gone to sleep with Bo Derek, and woke up with Bo Diddley?

  13. Thank you for fantastic pictures on a fantastic blog! I would like to ask:
Do you think you would like to stay in the countryside in the rest of your life, or do you want to move to a city some time? What, in your opinion, are the pros and cons with countryside vs. city?

  14. I feel like I have a million questions but I guess I have to narrow them down a bit :)

    a) What is your goal with your blog? Like, your vision? It has gained an impressive amount of followers in a short time, where do you see According to Annika in a year? How about in three years?

    b) What kind of fashion blogs do you like to read? I mean what do you find interesting and attractive in a blog?

    c) What signifies blogs you don't like?

    d) How much time do you spend on your outfit posts?

    e) what do you think sets you apart from other bloggers?

Iih I want to keep going but I guess I should be quiet now :P I LOVE YOUR BLOG SO MUCH!

  15. How the hell did you get so many followers in only four months?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! Please tell me you cheated somehow... It's not normal!

  16. Hey!

I'm also interested in how many pairs of shoes do you have?:) I always feel super guilty when I buy a new pair but then I think of you and how you're always saying that you can't afford to buy another pair but still pretty often you show us a new pair:) So thanks for making me feel better and of course congratulations on owning so many lovely shoes.

Also, as I'm from Estonia I'm interested to know what neighboring countries you've visited?

And third (last, I promise:)), could you recommend some cool vintage shops in Stockholm please?

    Thank you!

I have a few questions about your writing.
    1. Have you had any writing course? If yes, which one?
    2. Do you have any tips regarding your writing you could share?
    3. How often and much do you write?

    Thank you!

  22. Hi Annika,

I have been following your blog for a while, and therefore noticed the increased emphasis on "the daily look". Do you see any problem in adding to people's desire to express their personality in their way off dressing? Do you think there can be a problem if focus is put on the appearance? How do you yourself find balance in this?

No, these are not rhetorical questions. I am honestly curious, and if I sound hard it's because it is difficult (for me at least) to be nuanced enough when writing.

    All the best,

    Anna

  26. Hello dear,

I would like to ask how you are feeling at the moment (keeping in mind your blog regarding your periods of depression).
Like other readers, I am also curious to know how tall you are. This specifically has to do with the mind blowing JC's you often wear...

Also, I would like to congratulate you with the 4 months anniversary of your blog!

I found you on lookbook and I felt inspired to take a look at your blogspot, because your photo's were so distinctives from the other lookbookers. Don't listen to people who tell you that your pictures look the same as everyone else's pictures!

  28. Hi. I want to start with "I am so sorry". I once wrote, in a comment on BK, that I thought you were too pretentious, and something like that, maybe even worse. It was a post about you and I commented the post and wrote something quickly. Didn't think much about it. I was in a bad mood and I didn't even mean it.

Then I saw that you had replied and I've never felt so ashamed. I got caught up in the mood, in the critique of others, that I never even thought about the person we were writing about. I can honestly say that it came like almost a shock to me, that there are persons behind every blog, that read what I, and others, write about them and it was quite the wake up call.

After that I've felt that I didn't have a right to read your texts anymore, but of course I couldn't stay away. I love your writing, I really do. You are a beautiful woman, inside and out, and I am grateful for everything you've shared with us readers.

Not many people can say so much with so few words, and that is truly a gift.

Once again, I really am sorry for the unpleasant, untrue words I wrote, but take heart in knowing that your reply really did shake me to the core.

Thank you again for every text you've written for us and every picture you've published.

  44. Hi
I'm a huge fan. Been following your blog for years. I think you are so beautiful and talanted and goodhearted.

I'm also battling depression and can relate totally to your posts about it. And it was so strong of you to admit you have this problem. You really don't owe it to your readers to share every little thing about your life, so i was really happy when you did share this with us anyway.

I have a vague memory of you talking about being a christian guidance person or something. That you wanted to study to be a minister. Why didn't you?

Also I want to ask about how you and Ronnie met? I bought his book when it was first realesed and loved it. Was happy when you anounced your relationship!

You should write a book together! That would be great! You're lucky to have met someone who you share the same intrests with.

    Best wishes, Jasmine

  49. I know I'm just a reader, coming to you now, because I feel that you're familiar. Familiar as because I saw a little of myself in you. Or rather the you I see from your blog. I love the fact that you're braving everyday, facing the worst thats making you vulnerable. And I am doing the same. Do you think blogging is therapy? There is so much issues in my head/me. And I'm not asking for an audience to read or console my thoughts. I just thought that, maybe blogging might help me feel that, at least there's sincere people out there who would be there for me. Even if its the 5 minutes reading what I had to say.

  53. Hi Annika,

  56. Annika!
You are such an inspiration, and I've been following your swedish blog since 2008. But I've never asked you about anything so this is really a thrilling feeling. So...uhm... here goes.

    1. Do you have any hidden talent?
    2. If you could switch body with a moviestar/writer/millionaire etc for a week, who would you be?
    3. Do you have any favourite memory from your childhood?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi Annika! I know I've said it before, but you seem to be such a wonderful person. You know, you read this blog, and suddenly you find yourself thinking "Oh, I wish I had a friend like her." even though you've never even spoken to this person. Well, that's how I feel when I read your blog. You're awesome!

And now for the questions... I haven't read all the previous comments, so I don't know whether someone has already asked you, but anyway:

    - Do you ever write poetry, and if that is the case, is there any chance for a devoted blog reader to take part of it?

    - What is your favorite book - the kind of book that you could read over and over again and never grow tired of?

    - What would Your Perfect Day be like?

  58. As a freelance journalist I wonder how you managed to build up the courage to quit writing the columns? Wasn't that hard/scary?
What do you want to do in the near future (career wise)?
Do you have any regrets (in general)?

Oh, and btw I really like your blog, I liked it in Swedish and I like it in English!

  61. oh, thank you soooo much, I've been waiting for that for so long!

-What are the little things that make you smile on a daily basis?
-Which experience in your life do you think makes you grow up the most?
-When it comes to fashion, which is your favourite era?
-Which is your favourite city/country in the world (outside sweden)?

So thank you, for your fantastic writing. You truly are inspirational!

    However, i was wondering
since i love the light in all your pictures, how do you do that? Do you have any advice on when and how to direct the camera or what settings you should use?

And then I would very much like to know some more about how you and Ronnie met? (Perhaps it's too personal, my only excuse is that i'm a hopeless romantic)

  67. Hi Annika!
I've been reading your blog for many years (in Swedish) and I can't remember commenting or asking questions more than once or twice before. But now that you've opened up to answer questions just after writing an open blog post about depression - I had to take the chance.

You see, one of my absolute closest friends has struggled with depression and anxiety all his life. And since his mother is a psychologist, he's used to being analyzed and is sick of it, and he thinks that noone understands and never will.
He's been on and off meds for years and years and stopped taking them a couple of years ago. He's tried KBT but didn't like it at all (my theory is that it was too much at once, his troubled childhood was brought to the surface waaay too fast there).
What I wanted to ask you tonight is what kind of help has been the best for you? I ask because you yourself wrote that you're trying something new since KBT didn't work for you... I hope you won't think I'm being too intrusive, I really sincerely ask for my friends' sake. I love him like a brother and it breaks my heart that he hasn't wanted to leave his house and come meet me and his other friends in town more than a couple of times this year :(

(if you'd prefer to reply in an e-mail I will of course give you my e-mail instead!)

Lots of love to you, keep writing and filling our lives with your excellent thoughts!

What are the clothes that best suit your figure and which ones prefer to avoid?
And what colors you prefer that works best with your skin color and hair?
As I read your blog it seems you see Gossip girl and Dawson's creek of all the characters with which you identify with your personality and style? xo From Venezuela

  82. Hey Annika, I see you have already gotten an incalcuable amount of questions, but I need to ask you another one:

Who do you look up to the most, and for what reason?

  83. i) How are you? (I feel this is something that is not asked often enough as a genuine, truthful and heartfelt question.)

ii) Can you describe your style in one word?

iii) Can you describe yourself in 3 words?

iv) On the topic of religion... I consider myself as incredibly spiritual and faithful, but have not connected to one specific religion, despite being brought up in a Christian society. I pray to loved ones who have passed away, not God. I would like to continue this search/journey, especially since I find Lady Gaga has spread some refreshing and enlightening views on religion through her music/performances/artwork, and it has pointed out to me how contemporary and important religion is/can be. So, perhaps a bit of a complicated question, but how are you religious? What is your relationship with religion?

    v) Can you name someone/something (songs, books, films, objects, clothing...) that has inspired you and made you who you are/who would like to be?
When you feel doubtful/low, do you have something/someone you turn to for reassurance?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - thank you for being YOU. Your genuine and true you. I know you say that you don't have that one special and living person to turn to, but I believe in you so much, and you know you can always turn to us. Take care of yourself. <3 /emma

  85. I hope I'm not late with the questions...
    1) Which countries have you been to and where would you really really like to go ?
2)If you have a large Swedish audience, do you think it would be wise to write in two languages or are you relying on the reader's english skills?
    3)What's your favourite book/movie?
