Hair Perfection.

About five times a day, I get the urge to chop off my hair. But I don't think I've ever wanted it more than when I found this girl on the Asos website.

Seriously! She has the perfect haircut! And it seems like her hair is the exact same color and has the same wavy texture as mine, which should mean that the cut could work for me. Although I know that it won't. Oh, how I wish I could simply neglect the fact that I would regret it every day if I actually chopped it off! But I can't. I know that my bangs can never look that pretty - believe me, I've tried and tried and tried and tried. I've had hairstyles similar to this one more times than I can remember and my hair just refuses to cooperate. It's never looked half as good as her hair does on the photos above.

I'm not saying I don't like the way I look, but if someone told me I had to switch hair and face with a person of my choice - say, for like... six months - I wouldn't mind switching with this girl. Plus, she looks a tiny bit like me, so I could just claim I cut my hair and had an advanced face lift! :) Such a brilliant plan. Hmm.

Five bloggers whose hair and faces I certainly wouldn't object to walk around with for six months: Alana of Instinto de Vestir, Rosalind of Clothes, Cameras and Coffee, Ebba of Ebbas Foton, Barbro of Barbro Andersen and Margaret of Margaret J. And those are just five of probably a hundred of bloggers I adore both for their innovative style and incredible beauty. If I was the fashion editor of a magazine, I'd use bloggers for every single fashion editorial! I wonder if the perfect hair girl has a blog? She should have!

  2. my two favorite bloggers in terms of beauty are barbro and annika ;) true story.

and I can see the resemblance between you and the asos girl - maybe you should just cut your hair, it grows back anyway!

  3. THIS! Oh my gosh, this is what I've been attempting to grow my hair out to for about 7 months. My hair is taking it's sweet ass time to grow. Don't chop all your hair off, trust me months later when it looks like a mullet you'll regret it

  4. Haha! I used to be like you then one day I went all out and did a pixie cute (from waist length hair) it was the first time in my life and man it felt good. (I had what I like to call 'pretty hair syndrome' I think most long haired girls have it!) Having said that I'm currently growing it out to suit a more edgy style - think Olivia Wilde from Tron!

  6. I like how it looks so tangled and natural! nothing will ever beat natural beauty... but that does not mean you cant assist nature a little, does it?
And I can only agree with you! fashion bloggers would be just perfect for fashion shoots in magazines!

  7. Well, I for one am loving YOUR hair at the moment. Plus, you could have those bangs, but you'd need to blow dry with a round brush every day. And trim them very often.

  9. Hey, I have this hairstyle too (a bit shorter)! And my hair is curly...
For my bangs I found a solution: I had a Brazilian smoothing (based on keratin) only on the bangs, this result is great, no more curls here (you can see photos on my blog if you want, I posted a portrait not so long ago ;) )
Otherwise you can also try the straightener, those from the brand GHD are great, but after the first drop of rain, it will be wavy again...
Anyway I think you should try, the other day you posted old photos of you and this kind of haircut was really perfect on you, it was giving you great style and it suits to your face.

  10. ...I just wanna be myself
And I want you to love me for who I am
    I just wanna be myself
And I want you to know, I am my hair

I've had enough, this is my prayer
That I'll die living just as free as my hair
I've had enough, this is my prayer
That I'll die living just as free as my hair
    I've had enough, I'm not a freak
I'm just here trying to stay cool on the streets
    I've had enough, enough, enough
And this is my prayer, I swear
I'm as free as my hair
I'm as free as my hair
I am my hair, I am my hair...

(: I think I need to say no more. Oh and I adore your hair! love /emma

  11. Her hair is lovely, but yours is beautiful too!
I've always had long hair but I cut it quite short about a year ago. I thought I'd hate but quite the opposite happened. My grows so fast though that it's now nearly back to its usual length.
When I get a haircut I adopt the philosophy - "It's just hair, it'll grow back".

And you should keep your hair. I think it looks lovely. If anything, go back to being blonde? I saw a picture of you blonde (on one of your old posts) and I was like :O WHO is THAT?! She's gorgeous! Hahaha

  15. Virgit, thank you so much! I know lots of girl want long hair, and I usually do, too, when my hair is cut short... I'm never satisfied, I just get so bored with my hairstyle after a while, whatever it looks like!

kittenhood, aaw, you're so sweet :) I know it grows back, actually that's one of the biggest problems - my hair grows freakishly fast, if I want a short haircut to look decent I have to trim it every two weeks. And I just can't afford that. (In the past I always did it myself, which meant that my hair loked like craaaaaap 99,99% of the time.)

rebecca, jamen visst är det?! Man ba CRAVINGSSS ;)

Laura, well at least when it finally gets there, it won't grow out in a couple of weeks! You'll get there!

Tikkitiboo, wow, that's soooo brave! I've had my hair really short tons of times but I always did it gradually - when you already have a short bob a pixie cut isn't that big of a step. I absolutely agree with you on the "pretty hair syndrome". My sister Amanda seriously suffered from it before she decided that after 18 years it was time for a change! I've honestly never had it, since my hair has never exactly been "pretty". I cut it all off (myself) when I was 11 and after that I did everything to mess it up with cuts and weird colors until... well, like, two years ago. This is the first time since I was 13 that my hair is completely natural, without any hairdye in it.
I had to google Olivia Wilde in Tron, and gosh, I LOOOOVE that haircut! It looks a lot like the cut I had for years - this was the photo I brought to the salon. Go for it!

  16. The PvdH Journal - JUST DO IT!

Mie, I agree, that natural, wavy feel is what I love most about it! And really - I'm surprised all the models of the world still have jobs, considering all those fierce bloggers out there. :)

bokmald, THANKS. I appreciate that! But no, I couldn't have those bangs. I tried for six months, went to so many different hairdressers, but noone succeeded. And I tried every way: the round brush blowdry, the electric round brush, flat irons, the whole shebang. It doesn't woooooork. But that doesn't mean I don't still dream about it...

    Mihaela, right?

P', that's great that the Brazilian smoothing worked for you! I've heard bad things about it but maybe I should rethink it? I straightened my hair every day for ten years - I had to, since my hair was cut short and it's very wavy - and it completely destroyed it. The constant heat puts way too much stress on the hair for my taste, that's one reason why I know I shouldn't cut it!

    emma, ♥

The little world of fashion, it's the best! :)

witch hare, thank you so much, dear! Your hair is absolutely amazing. That's definitely my philosphy as well, always has been - I remember when I was 14 and the first internet communities started to pop up, on one of them you were supposed to answer 20 questions about yourself, one being "wich color would you never dye your hair?" I still remember my answer: "Hair is just hair and should reflect your mood". Haha, it sounds a lot better in Swedish, but the meaning is still the same!

marina, I completely agree with you! I see so many astonishingly beautiful girls everywhere with these thick, gorgeous bangs, and I get so insanely jealous. What makes it even worse is that I know how much I love the way bangs look on me - but it's simply too much freakin' work involved.

Yasmeen, I know, Barbro's eyes are so piercing and incredibly stunning it's almost scary! In a good way. :)
Thank you, I'm glad you like my hair the way it is - but I'll tell you, I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever go blonde again. I bleached it on a dare when I was 21 (something about a friend telling me there was no way someone as dark as I am could look good in blonde hair, or that it was impossible to bleach it that much) and it was one of the worst "beauty related" mistakes I've made. I had to bleach it ten times and then color it to get a shade that didn't look like someone had pissed on my head, it cost me a fortune, and then my hair literally fell off. I'd wake up in the morning, sit up in bed, and half of my hair was still on the pillow. In the end I had to cut everything off at the roots and dye the poor remains my natural brown color. If any brunettes read this, don't go blonde!!! Seriously! (But if the bet was that I couldn't look good in blonde hair, I think I one, haha! If, on the other hand, the bet was that it's impossible to bleach dark hair light blonde, I guess I lost...)

    Love,
    Annika

  17. Oh, please please PLEASE don't trade your appearance with anyone else! You're seriously the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I'm not even exagerating. So what if your bangs aren't perfect? You're perfect. No advanced facelift neccessary.

    xoxo

  18. your hair is so pretty! i totally understand though. i've got wavy/curly-ish hair too, and i very firmly said to myself several years ago that i will never cut bangs again, because they just don't work. cut to september this year, and i find myself asking my hairdresser to chop half of it off and cut bangs. even she was like "you know you'll have to straighten it all the time, or you'll look like a mad person, right?" (well, not in those very words, but still, the sentiment was clear...). but it was like my hair was calling out to me, i couldn't resist anymore. and i'm happy with it. sure, i do sometimes look like a crazy person, but i'm okay with that.

  19. I think you look so so great the way your hair looks now, but I do recognize the feeling that everyone else has perfect hair. I know exactly how my hair would look then.. It would require that it would never rain or be windy. Haha. Fat chance. :) Xoxo

  20. Wow I love this look! Her hair looks really amazing! I think sometimes it's good to have a transformation. As I see from these pictures, I think her hair structure is just the same as yours, no high layering and it has like a straight base not a V or oval. So when it grows again it will look like your previous long hair. So I think it won't change you that bold and you still are gonna look really gorgeous!

p.s: your sister looks really AMAZING with short hair style ;)

  21. Haha! Fighting the urge to change your hairstyle several times a day: I can totally relate to that! But unlike you, I am weak and I easily succumb to temptation. I think I have changed my hairstyle around 5 times already this year. I just made a collage of my hair transformation this year check it out here: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-vIu-nb_Epoo/TpRbSi7h4tI/AAAAAAAAAF8/PsZtcRSW5vA/h301/myhaircollage.jpg.

My initial plan was to grow my hair out so I can donate it to a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer but unfortunately my hair was disqualified cos of too much damage I've done to it (I've colored, permed, straightened, dyed and bleached- cos of the ombre hair craze- it to death). So now I am sporting a boyish pixie hair (which I was dying to have for a long time) and changed it back to my natural black hair color. Hopefully I can discipline myself to do nothing with my hair for 2 years-which is about the length of time to grow my hair out again to the required length for donation- this time so that I can finally qualify to be a donor. I plan to think hard of the children whom will benefit with my hair each time I'll get tempted to do something reckless. Wish me luck! <3
P.S. I've been playing around virtual makeovers instead of having the real change to my hair every time I get the urge to switch hairstyles. It's quite fun! You can try it here http://www.taaz.com/hair/hair.html

  22. when i saw your last post i was thinking "wow her hair is pretty long now, that looks so pretty" and i like you without bangs! but after all it's your decision :)

  23. Oh, and another thing...Hehe. I think the girl here is just wearing "clip-on" bangs. I've never seen any "real" bangs that are as full and perfect as this. I've seen several youtube vids regarding clip-on bangs but I haven't tried them out yet. They look quite amazing! You might want to check it out, here's the link:

  24. I love the haircut too! It's hard to pull off the blunt cut and bangs, especially if you have thick hair. It ends up looking like George Washington. Hehe, I know from experience! Poor 4th grade self!

  25. Honestly, I think you're gorgeous enough to pull off any hairstyle!
    NO JOKE!

  26. Your hair is beautiful! And since I think it is, but still know how much people can long for a change, I had to look the bangs up! I was really, really sure that they were "clip on"-bangs as jeenee said. So I did that(look them up that is) and I think I "found" them! I'm quite sure that these are the ones she used, and coincidentally they can be bought at Asos :) :

  27. Charliedarling, thank you so much, I also suspect she's wearing those clip-on bangs! As it happens, I bought them a year ago :) Unfortunately the ones I have are a bit too dark for my hair now.
