There's a lot of focus on family in this blog at the moment, I know. But my mom just posted a link to this feature, and since I'm so extremely proud of all of her accomplishments, I wanted to share it with you!
(And a bit of bragging: I know it doesn't say it, but I took this photo, too. My mother really is my favorite "model" - as well as my favorite everything.)
She is gorgeous and you should be proud! Sounds like an amazing woman :)

turn that frown upside down
congratulations to her! she's so talented :)
ReplyDeleteShe named her main character after you! That is just... Are you real or just the character from some wonderful book?? I love that there are "feministic undertones" in her crime novels...I'll definitely get one for my boyfriend (he reads loads of crime novels) and steal it for myself ;) We have a vacation in New Hampshire coming up and nothing to do but sit by the lake with his family all week and read, read, read, which is what I waste disproportionate amounts of time doing anyway...I need to get back to writing again. Ever since I finished my kid's novel (my first looooong manuscript)I haven't been on the ball. Your mother is so productive! I have a half-written young adult manuscript that's supposed to be my next project...Meantime I've just been reading loads. I live above a bookstore...it's a serious problem! Anyway congratulations. It's a great photo, too. But we all know on here you're a talented photographer!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'd be just as proud if my mother was a goodwill ambassador for unicef & if a novel character was named after me!.. lucky you!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading the linked article. That's a beautiful portrait photo of a beautiful, strong, talented, successful woman and mother. Love the idea of crime fiction with feminist undertones and, as she named her main character after you, I assume that character must be a confident, dynamic creation! I too have become my parents' photographer. Just one final question: when are YOU going to be writing/submitting/seeing published your first novel??
ReplyDeleteHaha annika I never knew your mom was Liza Marklund. her novels are always a pleasure to read.
ReplyDeleteAnd about the photo: well, you're talented as always.
xoxo
