"Why don't you go get rejected by America's Next Top Model or whatever?"

Navy blazer, straw hat and light blue 90's type jeans, Monki. Dark brown leather sandals, Zara. Tan leather belt, Gina Tricot. Tan leather satchel, Vero Moda. White t-shirt, Weekday. Lipstick: "Lady Red" by L'Oreal.

Haha, I'm honestly impressed - I took these photos in less than five minutes before heading out. I was in such a hurry but I feel like, now that I have this blog, I really want to document my oufits as often as I possibly can. I guess my blog-philosophy is "quantity before quality"... Not sure that's too smart, but eh, it's just a blog.

These jeans! Aah, they're so 90's and so not flattering in any way at all! That's probably why I feel great in them - there's something about clothes like that, they make me relaxed, comfortable and confident. Actually, I think it might be because I don't feel like I'm trying too hard to look "sexy". Maybe my height has something to do with it - when I dress up in really nice outfits (especially in high heels), I sometimes feel like people look at me and think "oh my gosh, look at her, who does she think she is? A model or something? Get real, girlfriend! You ain't all that! Why don't you go get rejected by America's Next Top Model or whatever?"

Umm, yes, I am aware that this might all be in my head. But that's what it feels like. And in outfits like this one, I imagine that all that people think is "wow, those are some not very flattering jeans". Which is awesome!

(I know you can't really see how insanely badly they fit me, I must have positioned my body in ways that make the clothes look as good as possible. I just can't help myself, haha! Eh.)

You might have seen the blazer before here, and the leather satchel here.

  3. Yeah, it's definitely in your mind, because I'm sure that every single person that sees you thinks that you actually ARE a model! I wouldn't be surprised if people took photos of you while you're walking. We're talking about a whole new level of human beauty here! And in fact, I think that the jeans and the oversized blazer, which by the way has the most gorgeous color, are really truly flattering on you! When I saw the pics, I was like 'I would look like a bag in it!' But you look so stylish and BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm a real fan of you. Like, seriously! *this is getting creepy, I'll stop now*

  5. This blog is totally incredible! And we have so much in common, although I feel creepy saying that too ;) I'm also half-American and half-European (my dad's French), a (former? possibly. Still up in the air) actress-model who does some writing too and loves fashion... Although you're really good at presenting yourself in a likable and relatable way, so I'm sure lots of people feel like they can relate regardless! This blog made me realize I need to take down my own blog until I can integrate all the aspects of my art as well as you do...I write under a separate name and act under another. It's so hard when you have to lie about your age! My friend Michael Leviton is also a writer and musician and he also is able to represent all his interests/ achievements on his webpage as you do...But I think it's harder for women?...Did you ever feel as if you had to pretend to be dumber/younger? Oh and your photography is just incredible too! The light you capture in your clearing it's truly lovely, very ethereal. You remind me of a modern Queen Titania from Midsummer Night's Dream just doing her chic thing out in the forest ;). Oh and btw Americans (especially here in NYC) are obsessed with Scandinavian writers right now. Hope that inspires you to get cracking on that novel! It'll sell like hotcakes over here ;)Anyway...brava! Yes, I'm another fan!

Yeah, I get that feeling to when dressing up.
In my case, I think it comes from my childhood - I was terrible ugly kid, yep.
And now, when I'm finally normal and sometimes quite hot, it makes me feel uncomfortable because I'm not used to it x)

    But you know what?
Today, I have smokey cateyes, I'm gonna but on a lovley chiffong dress in light pink, and I'm going to be hot (I'm putting my white converse on instead of heels, but that is just me being stubborn - I always wear converse!).

    Why not embrace my beauty?
Girl, you're so damn beautiful, you should do it to!

  12. I know exactly what you mean with the "dressing up" bit - I'm always under this (probably false, or quite probably true) assumption that whenever I dress up people are thinking I'm trying to get attention. I just like clothes and dressing up is for me - no one else.

Glad to see I'm not the only one! :)

And, really, who *doesn't* love 90's clothes? We all need some comfortable jeans around - and when you dress them up with the rest of the outfit they can become flattering even if they began as unflattering.

Which, is really just the long way of saying, I like 'em. :)

  14. Hahaha! I have two pairs of jeans like those -one in particular that I love and didn't realise they weren't flattering, until my step-mum pulled a face and let me know they made my bum look really BIG! *But I still wear them either way, cause they're just too fun not to! ;)

P.s. you look incredible in these pics. xxx
