This is one of the things I love most about living in a house with a garden: that I can just go outside, barefoot, and pick my own berries to eat with vanilla icecream.
These berries are called "smultron" in Swedish - they're sort of tiny, wild strawberries, they're absolutely delicious and my garden is covered with them. Being a city girl up until a year and a half ago, I can't even wrap my head around the luxury of having dessert waiting for me right outside my front door!
Oh my, this is so yummy ! I love your posts, dear, in fact you are among the few bloggers that I actually read their post , not looking just at the pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou write beautifully !

Offt this looks utterly delicious!
ReplyDeleteIt's called "szamóca" in here, and it's my favourite too. We have them in our garden, and it's really the most delicious fruit. When I was in boys scouts (or how do they call this, when there're girls too?? I think just "scouts". :]) I managed to name my patrol "szamóca", I loved them so much. I mean the fruit, because I hated the scouts.. :D
ReplyDeletei've got the same in my garden, just ate them today :) we call it "walderdbeeren" which means something like forestberries! looks tasty
ReplyDeletelove, nastassja
Nomnomnomnom. I love berries and ice cream. I used to go blackberry picking at the park in autumn
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that looks amazing. The square shape of the ice cream reminds me of this stuff we used to get at summer camp.
ReplyDeletehaha, you'll get another name of it now, this time in polish: poziomki 8D
ReplyDeleteoh and about your earlier post, when you asked about tutorials, i'm really keen to see one with the faux bob P:
Smultron is the best berries ever. After raspberries.
ReplyDeleteThose wild strawberries grow all over my backyard, along with raspberries and blackberries. They're so adorable and sweet - I'm definitely going to have to pick some and try them with ice cream now!
ReplyDeleteFreshly picked berries just sound deliciois right now! Mmmm, a big ole' bowl :D
ReplyDeleteI lived in the country (in Texas near Austin) for about a year and a half, myself, when I was fifteen. Unfortunately, the clay dirt made it impossible to grow anything that wasn't a weed, or cactus!
ReplyDeleteThis is very coincidental, I just went outside (barefoot) and picked all of our wild strawberries and ate them, unfortunately though, not with vanilla ice cream. :)

I always wanted a garden, but in the city because I can't survive in the country, haha ;)
ReplyDeleteindeed, that is one of the best things about living in a house with a yard! however, these delicious berries you pictured are wild where I live and can only be found in forests :( or very pricey at the market
ReplyDeleteyummy!! That looks delicious... Im planning to move to a house with a garden too... I miss that feeling, the flowers and nature... hope I can do it soon... Kisses gorgeous!!
