Polka Dot Shorts and The Truth of My Online Persona.

Navy polka dot shorts, Weekday. Off-white plain tank top, Monki. Off-white socks, Lindex. Black leather litas, Jeffrey Campbell, Solestruck.com.

I had a pretty great time last night, I'll tell you that. Or, the whole day was actually awesome. My mom stopped by for a few hours, we had lunch and she helped me out watering my neightbour's garden.
(They're on vacation and I'm sort of in charge of keeping all of their flowers and plants alive. I don't know what they were thinking - have they even seen my garden? I've never watered anything in my life that's outside, I believe that if the flowers die from lack of rain, then that's the destiny nature had planned for them. You know, the circle of life or something.) My mom took care of the watering-part and I was running around like a four-year-old, squealing every time I got drenched by the hose.

Later, me and Ronnie went to dinner in a near-by town, then we went home and spent the night watching Swedish movies from the early 1980's. I've said it before and I'll say it again: It. Was. All. Awesome. In that low-key, no-need-for-bold-gestures sort of way.

Today I have tons of work to do, and it's already 3 pm here, so I'd better get to it! Stupid blog, distracting me from my work. But hey, it's worth it. I can't even say how grateful I am for all of your comments - these past four weeks have been the happiest I've felt in a long time.

Someone who liked my previous post about "how to keep one's figure" commented: "I was beginning to doubt the truth of your online persona but if something like this comes out of it then I guess it doesn't really matter." I'm not entirely sure what she meant by that - not sure at all, actually - but I can assure you that everything I write in this blog is true. I am who I say I am, I live where I say I live, I do what I say I do. I think what I say I think, feel the way I say I feel, and I've been through everything I claim to have been through. Otherwise, it would be pretty embarrassing for me to have my mom reading my blog! She'd call me up and be like, "now this is news to me".

Oh, right. Work. Told you this blog is distracting!

  1. Haha! Blogs always are. Distracted me so often last school year, I still managed to make through, thank god :)
I find it quite annoying when people think "Nah, she's not real," or something because you know you really are.

  2. I think the internet, especially the horror stories of people pretending to be other people and such (the old guy in his 70's who's pretending to be a 14 year old girl, like that) - really makes people wary of trusting people's identity on the internet.

That being said, I think from the beginning it was clear you were a very real person - you can't fake being someone like you. :)

Now then - those socks with the litas are so cute. Extreme jealously. Also, the shorts look super comfy and flowy and wonderful. Extreme jealously yet again. :)

  3. I love those socks.
And I think when you are generally cheerful and also open about your low moments, people have this idea that you aren't being true, because it is hard to be happy and it is hard to tell sort-of strangers about your worst moments, and it is even harder to do both of those at the same time, and it would be easier to just make up a story persona with some pretty clothes. Run-on sentence much there, whoops.
Anyway, I agree that having your mum read your blog keeps it real. We sometimes discuss internet gubbins over dinner, and my mum is really proud of every comment I get on my blog, but she would be just as quick to tell me I wasn't being very real, and that I should be more truthful.

  6. Maybe she thought that because every one of your outfit posts looks like it could be an editorial shoot...which, my dear, is quite the compliment! haha!
